Warm Hearth at Home Companion
The Companion provides companionship, friendship and emotional support to clients who may require some assistance beyond which family members or facility staff can provide. The Companion does not perform any hands-on personal health care services. Light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, driving clients to appointments may all be part of an assignment.
To be qualified for the Companion position, the preferred educational background is a high school diploma or GED. Some experience in caring for the elderly is helpful. A good driving record is required for those companions who will drive clients, as well as car insurance on the Companion's personal vehicle. Current CPR/First Aid certification is required: Warm Hearth at Home can provide the training if needed.
Hours are flexible, and dependability is essential.
Companions have the job satisfaction of knowing that they can contribute to the client's quality of life, and perhaps enable them to remain in the home setting.
